Holden is an iconic Australian brand. When J.A. Holden started his leather and saddlery business in Adelaide in 1856, he would not have dreamt that more than 150 years later the Holden brand would be recognised nationally, and that the company would be exporting around the globe.

At the National Motor Museum, we are keen to hear how Holden has impacted on your life. Childhood memories, time with family, obsessions with particular models, working for the company... the potential topics are endless. Have a go... it's fun!

VX Commodore

Does anyone still remember the tv ad for the VX SS in 'hyper yellow' when the kid puts things in the driveway so the dad can manouvere around it? Can anyone send me a link or send it to me, one of my favourite ads! Thanks everyone :)

Me and Holdens

Holden has been in the family since i can remember. I still remember family members working at Holdens parts division in Doveton, Melbourne. My Grandfather worked at Holden most his life on the essembly line, and regularly bought brand new Kingswoods, including the Monaro.
Our first family car was a VK Commodore SL. Then we replaced that one with a VR Commodore which was fairly new. I basically grew up with those two cars.

flinstone power!

nothing exciting, but wen i was about 14 my family had a sky blue paddock basher ht holden that we drove over the farm to and from the school bus stop everyday... it had virtually no rear floor, there were metal plates just sitting on the floor.. if they shifted, we got feet full of grass and dirt etc... kinda felt like the flinstones hehe
